Tail light assembly problems

Seems like my 1970 safari just wants to stay home.....

I'm having some issues with taillight, turn signals, & running light failures. The curbside taillight assemble is getting shorted out & backfeeding. Various things are doing odd stuff.

I tried to search for some topics I know I read on the forums regarding this, but I'm just coming up brain dead today.

Where is the 7-way wiring harness coming from on this model? Is it in the ceiling or belly pan.

I think I'm going to end up refixturing the assembly. Do you have to remove the interior wall panels to take off the light casting. I know I seen a thread & pictures on this, but cant find it!

Finally, any creative alternatives to get me on the road safely? I'm not opposed to a temporary cable to some temporary lights!

Thanks!

I would not let tail lights keep me from a camping trip...
Do the temp, and work on them when you get there.

Are you blowing fuses?
If not, you probably just got a twisted bulb connector, had one drive me crazy a while.

Take them all out,
Disconnect them all,
And one by one get them confurmed that they each work.

Rust, bent connectors, bare and broken wires can all be working against you.
