Surge Protector
I have a Progressive Ind. 30A surge protector that plugs into the camp site pedestal. There was a discussion about it walking away when we're not looking. And at $240 its a real concern.
My 20' has a dead space under the real seat where the 'tunnel' is and where the 120v crosses over to the circuit panel.
Using what I already bought, why not cut into that line, install a 30A plug and socket and just plug in my Progressive?
Nuts?
I have the same surge protector and use a cable style lock on it. I have never had anyone try to steal it yet. Also, if I am going to be away from the Airstream for an extended period, I unplug it from the pedestal and store it inside.

If you lock up the surge protector when you are away, you leave the rv without protection or you disconnect the power. Doesn't this defeat the purpose of having a surge protector in the first place? This is my dilemma.
