Stange noise from the fridge.

We have a newer Dometic RM2820 that is "clicking" every once in a while. It's not constant and comes and goes. Seems louder in the coach, but could be the echo-chamber effect of the interior. It will click once or twice, then quit for a while. The fridge is keeping temp, but this is starting to drive me up the wall. Any clues?

Propane igniter?

Probably the ignitor for the propane flame. When the thermostat calls for cooling, the gas valve is opened and the spark lighter ignites the flame. Usually takes two or three "clicks" or "snaps" for the flame to light and feedback to the board to turn the spark off. It happens at random times as it is dependent on when the thermostat calls for cooling.

Pull the outside vent cover and put in as much sound deadening insulation against the interior surfaces as you can. should help both noise and fridge performance.

All good points, thanks. Does the fridge ignitor board, even though we're on shore power, think it's on propane, causing the click?

It should only click on propane. Are you sure your power is operating properly? If the circuit which goes to the refrigerator is not working, you may be running on propane and not aware of that.

Our lights on the fridge show we are on shore power. The switches work fine, and we took the coach out and it automatically switched to propane. The fridge is three years old. I have heard the "click" when we're boondocking on propane; this is a different, more metalic click-thunk.
