Source for new generator

Can anyone advise where is the best place to purchase either a Yamaha or Honda generator in the Dallas Fort Worth area? Thank you.

I would not touch Wise Sales with a 20ft pole.....I ordered before the holidays, they billed me immediately. I checked each week only to be told they were out of stock. Eventually 2 weeks ago I cancelled and they agreed to give my money back. So far nothing. I just spoke to their refund dept only to be told there is a back log of refunds because so many people are cancelling (because they don't have stock) that I now have to raise a dispute via my bank

Martin, not to dispute your words, but perhaps the union strike on the west coast is impacting those two importers of quality gensets.

Like Firedog, Wise is, in my opinion, the go to retailer for both Honda and Yamaha. And, if I'm not mistake, their price includes shipping.

Bar none.

txlogic, If you can find a dealer in the Metroplex, I would go for it, because shipping HAS to be a pretty good chunk of change in the equation.

In a separate discussion on the forums Robert from Honda indicated there was no shortage of units. If folks want to risk Wise charging when they don't have stock that is their call.

I always prefer to deal local. I would suggest finding a local dealer that sells Honda generators and hopefully has them in stock. Unfortunately with winter power outages this is not the best time of year to buy. Then look for the best deal you can find on the internet and see if they would match it. I bought 2 last year. Camping World was running a sale (matched Wise Sales price). I took the ad in to my local Kubota tractor/Stihl/Honda dealer. I showed them the ad, and without blinking they matched the price. They then showed me how to run them and started them up. They then had me start them up to make sure they both worked. They then loaded them into the back of my truck for me. They are also Authorized Honda repair place as well. I live in a small town, I am sure you can find a similar dealer somewhere in your area.

When we were developing the LowPro LockDowns we 'borrowed' the Honda 3000 from both DFW Honda - Honda Motorcycle, ATV & Honda Power Equipment Dealer - Grapevine, Texas - Generator Pump Scooter Watercraft Grapevine Dallas Fort Worth and Northern Tool.
For the Larger Yamaha we did test fits at Freedom Powersports in Lewisville.

For online try http://www.electricgeneratorsdirect.com/

My local dealer matched wise sales out the door so get a quote and make your pitch locally at least - and if it's only a bit more then buy local?
