Smev Hob installation question

I'm installing a Smev Hob (cooktop like in new Safaris) in my Bambi II. The ignitor requires a 12 volts for power with a 3 amp fuse. Instead of running a wire around the trailer to a connector with the fuse, would it be feasible to simply wire the ignitor to a small 12 volt battery?

No, not really. That battery would need to be charged. I don't know the layout of your trailer, but there's usually power nearby.

Just for giggles, try it with a 9 volt battery and see if it works.

I ended up wiring two 6 volt lantern batteries + to - to get 12 volts and "presto" the ignitor sparks. That was a lot simpler than running wire all around B II.
