Slow starting A/C

I have a 15K ac that is about 3 years old. It is getting slower to start each time I go camping. Yesterday I turned it on for the first time in weeks. It took somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes to start. I finally turned the fan on and about a minute later the compressor came on. Does anyone have a clue to what may be happening?
Thanks

Low voltage can cause slow starting motors, so I would first check all the electrical connections for loose or corrosion. Lubrication?

Are you say it is slow (laboring) to start, or the time delay between switching it on and the fan/compressor starting is lengthening over time....to 5 - 10 minutes. A delay is normal, at about 2 minutes.

I would suspect the thermostat. I would also check the voltage to rule that out. It should be 110V or above. Does it cycle normally after it starts? It could have a weak capacitor that gets better when it is hot. Also putting an amp probe on it to measure the current would also be useful. Too much current means a problem.
