silver wire?

I just pulled my entertainment center from my 31' LY because the previous owner decided to [for some reason or another] cut out the center box, the one that holds the radio/tapedeck/fader.
I rebuilt it with some aluminum and pop rivited it like new.
My question is there a half inch plastic tube with a silver bare wire running thru it. It appears to end outside under the trailer streetside, forward, into what looks like a firecracker[sending unit]? In my control unit I have a Barometer and a Inside thermometer any quess as to what the wire is for?

thanks Markus

Markus,
Our unit has an outdoor high/low tempature thermometer and a clock. It sounds like what you are looking at is the thermometer sending unit. I have seen units where someone had replaced the clock or thermometer with a differrent type of unit. FWIW our clock makes lots of noise but doesn't work. The thermometer works fine and is fairly accurate.

Thanks for the reply AAron!

I'em not sure what a high/low thermometor is. I do have an indoor/outdoor one mounted on the partition between the frig and credenza.
the thermometor in the control center works fine for inside temp. and I cannot see any place were that wire can hook into!
Unlesssss, let me check my serv.man.

Thanxs again: Markus

My apologies----
should have checked my "as Bible" first.
the thermometer in the central control panel is an "outside"
unit!!
the upside is I don't have a noisey clock! he!he!
