Short 50 amp power cord

I am looking for a 12-15 foot 50 amp power cord. All I can find is extension cords. Any suggestions?

Good luck! I doubt you will find anything premade that length as it is useless to most buyers. You will probably need to make one yourself or find a place that makes them custom sized.

I think Furrion makes different length cords of all kinds. I got a very short 30A cord to plug into the trailer, from which I run a 50' #12 AWG extension cord to the house, to keep the batteries charged during the winter. I recall seeing what you want on the Furrion site, but maybe not on Amazon.

You could also cut the end off a longer 50A hose, and attach your own male plug IMO.

Good luck!

Did not see anything shorter than 25'. As a practical matter, there is very little application for a short cord so look for a custom made or make your own, probably.

Try a google for Conntek 15 ft 50 amp cord. I have one and love it. Very light. I rarely need the longer, bulkier and heavier cord and am very happy with the purchase.

Ideally, we would each have a power cord that is exactly the right length every time, not too long or too short. Unfortunately, I don't think that such a thing exists. Next best, I guess, is to have a variety of cords and adapters so that we can use whatever we need. Once I actually used a 50A to 30A dogbone at the power pedestal, then two 25' 30A extension cords, then a 30A to 50A dogbone to attach to the 50A power cable for the coach. That meant that I had only 30A available, but it was the only way to get electricity. Even then, I literally had the cords in a straight line in order to reach.

I made my own 7' 30 amp cord.
I had a surge guard blow on me during a thunder storm in Erieau, one time, (saved my trailer).
So I took the both ends off it, and connected a 7' piece of 12 ga. to them, and there was my short extension.
I don't see why that couldn't be done with a 10 ga. cord for 50 Amp.

Are you sure that those AWG sizes are adequate for the 30/50 amperages?

Made my own 3 years ago. It is 30' long. Both ends can be replaced..and the cable... it ain't purdy... but I don't have to wash it each time I camp.

I am guessing that it would depend on the length of the cable run.
For short cables, the tables say "OK".

Go to Camping world, they have 50 connector to trailer and 15 foot 50 cord, I use combination at all state parks in Florida, I don't even bring the 50 amp cord that came with Airstream with me.
