The problem: until just a few day ago all interior 120v electrical plugs were working. Now one of the circuits (which supplies most of the interior plugs - kitchen area and front plugs) has tripped and cannot be reset. In the converter box it is the circuit that has a ground fault - which has not been tripped. All DC circuits are working as well as some of the interior circuits.

Need ideas to local the short or otherwise determine why the circuit cannot be reset. I need to solve the electrical problem before installing new cabinets.

I'm restoring the interior of an 2003 22ft CCD International - completely gutted and beginning to install mostly new components: sofa, cabinets, closet, etc. Only the bed and kitchen cabinets will be in the came location.

First question, have you turned the errant breaker switch all the way off before trying to reset? Assuming that you have done that, my next suspect would be a bad breaker switch.

If a new breaker trips immediately, I would next suspect that a wire in that circuit has become frayed and has made contact with another piece of metal during your renovation.

Try resetting the gfi switch, usually in the bathroom. It can be difficult, try several times.

Thanks for the suggestions, most of which I've already tried. HOWEVER, since the post form this AM nothing is working except the DC circuits and they are not getting power to charge the battery.
I'm beginning to think it might possibly be the converter, therefore, how do I test the converter?

florescent lighting on the same circuit could cause problems with the gfi. Why do you have a GFI breaker and a GFI outlet on the same circut? Was it recently installed that way? You only need the Breaker GFI to protect the entire circut. I have had relatively new breakers fail as well.
