shore power cord and 12 volt.

My shore power cord is some what frayed at there it plugs into the generator and appears to have a short in it. If I hold it a certain way when plugged into the generator it works, sit it down it stops. I know I need to repair that. My question is: Even a fully charged battery will not work the lights and water pump. Would the power cord's problem shut down the 12 volt system too? I'm new at this Help

Cut back on the frayed end and put on a new plug.

Check the fuses or breakers. The short in the power cord may have blown them. I had the same problem. I opted to replace the entire power cord with a 30' instead of the original 25'. Now I can reach the gen. in the bed of the pickup while in front of the trailer. My trailer is only 22'.....Tim
