I like XM equipment better, but I've heard too many people say it's a sinking ship.
Better check Sirius's stock performance this week!

Sinking Ship?

XM has like a 3 to 1 user base versus Sirrus. Howard Stern on Sirrius..garbage! I love my XM, and the antenna is being fit into the SOTR restoration on the roof.

Which is better depends on what you are looking for.
Audio quality for XM is better. If you want stern then Cirius. I got XM before Cirius exsisted. They have everything I need, Music, Weather, News.

XM
We love XM. I am on the family plan with 5 total receivers.
We turn our service on and off in the Overlander when we put it up for the winter.
We have great reception with X-M.

Love my XM

I love my XM radio. I use it on the road all the time. I primarliy listen to the NASCAR channel, Opie and Anthony talk, and the 50s, 60s, and 80s. I really like that I can listen to the NASCAR races on MRN up north in the Northeast. (Our FM stations don't carry MRN like they do in VA and NC). In 2007, XM is dropping MRN on it's NASCAR channel, as NASCAR is going over to Sirrius - and I will have to decide whether to make the change as well. Sure wish NASCAR was staying on XM.....

Also

I use an FM modulator in the tow vehicle. On my radio in the Airstream, I can pick up the XM in the trailer, with the modulator in the tow vehicle. Yeah, I have to go out to the trailer to change the channels, but it works. Just a thought!

Smile We're happy with XM too

We can catch the NPR stations pretty easily wherever we go on the local radio, and get the local weather/etc so we do that for news and listen to XM for the rest.

As an option, you can get the Xact Stream Jockey Portable Boombox and take it with you. You can listen to SIRIUS wherever you go. No wires, AC/DC (8 "D" Batteries).

I went with Sirius mainly because one came installed in the Bambi. I was a bit disappointed when I learned the NPR feed was not the same as on terrestrial FM. I picked up an extra antenna and lighter plug so I could move easily it between vehicles.

We have XM and love it. Our MyFi receiver is easy to transfer between TV, car, house and Airstream. I prefer XM because it has full coverage of Major League Baseball.... and no Howard Stern.

I just got "XM" for the excella. It was a add on to my dearest Linda Lu's account. Her car was equipped with if from the mfg.
I'm lovin it!! And I can easily move it from one vehicle to another!
I'll post pics of the install if anyone is interested. I'm still doing a little wiring to make it clean!
50's music without bla bla.

SiriusXM, now you don't have to choose!

With the merger recently approved I see a great future for those of us who are addicted to this service. A number of changes are in the works and I think it will only be better.

Enjoy!
