No, doing it in a big Class A is a display of an abundance of money— as is the prodigious amount of fuel said Class A's generator would burn.

But given that it was a Class A, they might have needed the generator for a multitude of rooftop air conditioners all running at once. At the Air Midwest Rally a few weeks ago, I was parked near a whopping big 54' Class A that had no less than FIVE rooftop air conditioners! Those people definitely had more dollars than sense! No amount of 50amp and 30amp hookups could possibly have powered all five A/Cs at once without browning out the entire campground. So if they ever tried to run them all at once, they'd definitely have needed the generator running as well.

Funny thing is these big guys in their giant class a busses with 3 acs and 2 generators who can't sleep without ac, can't cook without a microwave and can't entertain themselves without a TV are the first ones to go around callin other folks soft.

I feel bad for em.

Nice sight for people to feel better about themselves at others expense.

Possibly the coach had several different rooms that required separate ac units. Possibly the owners had no intention of running them all at the same time. Why does it automatically mean the owners have more dollars then sense?

So, the people in the big class A had to be;

A. Stupid
B. A-holes -or-
C. Both

My little 16 foot Airstream cost 4x what my previous 16 foot trailer costs. I'm sure that counts as more money then sense to some.

I used my little Yamaha in a campground with hookups once, for about two hours in a mid morning power failure.

I talked to them. I have been known to talk to fellow campers who don't have Airstreams, from time to time.

Who pays 2 million dollars for a motorhome that they only use 2 weeks out of the year, and are actually proud enough to brag about it? Only people with more dollars than sense.

I was going to buy a six million dollar RV, but it only had six generators and twelve air conditioners. That really pissed me off.

Not arguing. I just wanted to make sure I don't spend too much so I can avoid looking frivolous.

Lets all agree and disagree with conviction, but lets pursue the standard of graceful exchange.

Yes, The rock and roll tour busses that you see parked outside concert venues run the generator 24/7. They're 20 kw. units and it's just part of the deal. However, I've never seen one in a campground, since they spend their time on the road or in front of hotels. They are also very quiet.
I don't think I'd want a 54' RV since finding a pull through is difficult.
The NASCAR drivers mostly have 45' high end motorhomes and they run on shore power. One or two have specialty semi trailers with five slide outs and are towed by a semi tractor.
Money is no object. Gone are the days when Richard Petty towed his car on a flatbed behind the family station wagon.
