Power cord

Does any supplier make a 50 amp power cord in a length of 10-15 feet it must have female twist lock on one end and male pigtail on other.

I don't see anything like what you want online, but what you are asking for seems like it would be pretty common. You could easily do this if you were willing to settle for a dog-bone adapter on one or both ends of an available, standard 15' - 50A cord. Otherwise you could always build one yourself. All of the parts are readily available at Amazon.com.

Thanks. I will likely just build one. Would prefer factory moulded connectors but that doesn't seem likely.

Furrion does make a 15' extension cord with 50 amp four pin female receptacle to 50 amp 4 pin male connector using four #6 conductors.

The shortest 30 amp cord I have seen online is 25' and 30' for 50 amp. So, Furrion and other sources sell the end pieces and one must find the appropriate UV rated outdoor power cable with heavy insulation for dragging around a camp site...

Is there a source for a better quality cord than the made-in-China piece of junk cord that came with my trailer? The plastic screw-on part is broken. Is there a cord with a metal screw-on part?

No metal screw ring. You do not want metal you touch near live connector pins. The twist lock will give a secure connection with or without locking ring. You can purchase the ring by itself.

So far I'm living without the ring. Another plastic ring would probably break, too, unless is was considerably thicker/bigger and made of a less brittle plastic. I was disappointed to see "Made in China" on the cord...

There are two styles of the ring, one with threads, one with lugs. The lug style works better. Usually when you purchase a cord or connector they include one of each.

Anyway, it's easy enough to buy a replacement ring and slip it in place.

The power cord with the threaded ring came with the trailer.
It is another thing on my list for our September 16 service center appointment.

The metal ring is NOT a safety issue.
Connecting the plug when the power is ON is the SAFETY ISSUE.
You should not be plugging the coach in with the power on.
