power converter

I have a 72 Airstream. Can I use a 7355 inverter in this older trailer? I have 1 air unit on it. If so, is there a wiring diagram online somewhere? that is a Parallux

You are running your air conditioner on an inverter? I don't think that is good...

Just looked this up. It's a converter, not an inverter. Looks like it should do the trick, although people on this forum don't seem to care for Parallax. Take a look at the Boondocker series or Intellipower as alternatives.

Thanks. I'll check out the other converters. This is my first airstream. Someone stole the converter and the stove, but the A/C works.

The Parallax 7355 is a single stage converter/charger which is used in most newer Airstreams. It is not a very good unit in that it only charges at one voltage, not three as is best for batteries. As mentioned, it is not an inverter, it is a converter/charger 120 volts to 12 volts.

You can use it but it is far from optimum. Progressive Dynamics 9255 is a good one, and other 3 stage converters are available. Randy at bestconveter.com is a good phone source for information and products.
