I checked post #23 in this thread again, I'll try to do the math on everything to see if it looks OK. I have not yet gone out to get the RV box yet.
What happens if I hook up the microwave and turn it on tonight and I figured something wrong?
Does my trailer explode in flames?
This is perhaps outdated by now..
I picked up my RV outlet box at a reputable Electrical Supply business..(in NH)
For the cover, switch and proper outlet rating..(30 amps..) The entire box cost over 60$..It' been 6 yrs since I bought the box..So, that figure might be off by now..Btw, it even has a lock loop feature to prevent abuse..(theft of service)
Good luck~!

Question about the receptacle. RV receptacle? Does anyone have a picture to post of the female and exterior box? Have my FC-25' arriving in Jan and want to prep a plug and waste disposal pipe into my septic.

Home Depot and Lowe's generally cary them. Just be sure it is the 30 amp 120 volt two slant and one D shaped ground socket that RV's use.

Any rv supply place should have one. My AS dealer did.

see post #16 for correct receptacle , TT30-R looks just like the common dryer outlet but is rated and marked for 30A 120V RV service. Less likely to be miswired, at least if your electrician can read

I can assure you, based on other posts on the forums, and personal experience, that electricians DON'T read. They just do what they always do. Double check the outlet with a voltmeter before you plug in! You don't need to hit your AS with 220 volts instead of 115!

Got everything at Lowes, about $50.

Installed myself.

Here's a link to Amazon for receptacles alone or with box: http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&key...l_1nhmsv8ftc_b

The ground is on the top and the the 2 holes for the hot and common lugs are in a V shape on the bottom of the receptacle.

There have been posts on the Forum in the past where electricians did it wrong. They probably don't install many of these and they may mindlessly go into clothes dryer mode and think they are 240 v. with 2 hot wires and not 120 v. with one hot wire. Having installed an RV receptacle several years ago, they do feel like a dryer or even a stove receptacle, so a thorough mind cleaning is required before installation. I bought it at a hardware store where the salesperson didn't know what I was talking about and I had to look hard to find a dusty box with the receptacle I needed.
