Onan running but no power to a/c....

I have a 98 LandYacht w/Onan Marquis 5000. I use the generator during trips up I-95 from SC to MD in the warmer months to run the roof a/c, cofee maker, microwave. The gen has 315 hrs. total and has performed flawlessly during the past 5 years.

So changed the oil today and fired it up but NO power to the appliances at all.

Is this is diode issue in the generator or have I tripped a fuse somewhere?

BTW, all appliances work well when plugged to shore power.

On our 345 MH the Onan has two ckt-breakers and one in-line glass fuse right at the gen. and they would be the first things to check, especially since yours is ok on shore power. Yours should be similar.

yep. but no.

Found those already. Still no power.?

Also, pulled out my Onan Manuel and now have a much better idea of how things are 'supposed to' work (along with wiring diagram).

My LY has two model TS-30 power switchs that control the transfer from gen to house pwr. I'll be testing those today.

I've heard that the problem can be the diodes in the gen itself. Lots of big boats here in Beaufort w/these Onans and some have needed their diodes renewed.

I'm hoping not.
