OK I'm confused

I have a 73 ambassador, and do not know how to hook to the antenna. I have a white box with a 12 volt plug in and two small holes for antenna. How do I use the antenna?

My '66 TW has holes next to the front window for an antenna. As we were about to leave the PO with the trailer he said wait then came back with the antenna. The wire for it went down inside the wall, under the floor and up to an antenna plug on the shelf on top of the fridge. Not really much room for a TV but it looks like a factory installation. Maybe your antenna wires also go down the wall to wherever too? I have not installed my antenna but cut patches from aluminum tape to cover to outside holes. You can hardly see the patch.

antenna connector

Seems to me that we had a discussion on these connections before. There are pictures of this little connector. Try this link and see if this is what you are talking about.

Hope this helps

Stop at Radio Shack they still carry the plugs. For less than ten mins and $5 problem will be solved.

when I was looking for one, Radio Shack didn't have them...never heard of them...nothing in their catalog...bupkiss.
Another option is to replace the whole thing with a modern 12v socket/coax tv antenna amplifier/connector.

Ditto

Radio Shack didn't have these here either. We went to an old (established) TV repair shop that had been around for awhile and asked....Sure enough. they knew exactly what they were and had several in an old parts bin that was laying around the shop!

If you will look at posts 11 and 12 in the referenced thread above, you'll see an entry in post 11 from retro-active-couple offering to purchase the needed leads and ship them to anyone interested in having one. They have a source locally. I contacted her, ordered and received two of the leads so that I'd have a spare. At the time (04-29-04), they were $3.39 each. She kindly shipped them. Cost was minimal. They weigh very little. Contact retro-active-couple through the forum's private message system by clicking on her name in post 11 of the above thread. She'll likely be more than willing to purchase one and ship it to you. Then you'll have the original equipment. GStephens

You may also find one at an older RV dealer . It's called a "Braund 300 ohm TV jack ( small )" pn 11617 (wood grain) or pn 11616 ( ivory ). Don't know if it can be ordered or not.
