Question Newbie wonders what is it?

Hi Friends,

I have a recently purchased 1970 23 foot safari. In the rear access by the power converter and battery there is a metal electrical box with a red light on the center of the cover plate. The wires coming out are romex so I assume this is some sort of power indicator light. Since I do not have an owners manual yet - what does it indicate? (so far nothing when the electric is plugged in)

Thanks

Doug

Doug,

What you have there is a polarity indicator light. If the polarity is wrong the light will come on and the idea was you unplugged - turned the plug over and plugged it back in. With modern plugs and outlets (they only fit one way) you should never have that problem - but it's nice to know it's there.

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us. Some of those older unit had flux capacitors.

thanks for the info ganglin, I really appreciate it. Maybe I will label it the flux capacitor just for the fun of it....I am sure it will never work as I can't get 88 miles an hour, nor find enough jigawatts!

You are on your own with the 88 MPH. The 1.21 jigawatts is not that big a deal. Here is what you do:

You get 2 Honda 1 jigawatt generators and the parallel kit. As long as you are not running your Air and a microwave at the same time, you should be fine.
