Missing thermostat for furnace 76 sovereign

All I've got is a few wires coming out of the wall next to the fridge on a31 footer. What's best approach to replacing it?Not clear if my 77 manual applies to a 76 model. Thank you .

PS New to forum how will I locate any responses to this ? Will I get an email back or just rummage around on the forum for my Title?

ONE - welcome to Airforums! We'll help you through the initial steps. Look up on the bar that starts UserCP ---go right until you see New Posts - that gets you a lot of the current responses starting (usually) where you last read on a thread. You can revisit any thread you started or made a post on by using Advanced Search and on the right hand top just putting in your own User Name. Also If you have a current thread that you've posted on like this one, click on your Avatar(picture) and select "find other threads by..."

Also thoroughly study UserCP - it's your control page - you can ignore threads that don't interest you, set up notifications when someone posts to a thread you follow or post on, etc.

If you think you've really screwed something up, put a plea into the Moderators - they're the ones on the user list at the bottom of the page whose names are in bold... they can delete a post or redact it or even help you change your user name. When I started I was "Tin Lizzy"

Oh, and a missing board on a furnace. Had one stolen from my EB. Someone with a SOB had been stealing them for months - and finely nearly fried himself putting the last one in HIS furnace. Should have figured that if they kept blowing out, there was a short somewhere in his system. Can't tell you that much about older units - but you can go to www.Airstream.com and find .pdf's for a lot of older models including their appliances.

Happy hunting. Paula

You can use most any good household type thermostat.

You can get them at stores like Home Depot.

Hi fredy,

I would go ahead and upgrade to a digital thermostat for the convenience. I believe I used a Honeywell unit cost less than $30.

Those wires do not have anything to do with the furnace. The thermostat for the furnace should be in the bedroom area, near one of the light fixtures on the aft bulkhead. The wires you found are for the air conditioner only, and unless you still have the OEM air conditioner, are likely disconnected at the other end, as well.
