Microwave Power Use

I installed a solar system with 2000 Watt inverter so that I could use my micro to heat a cup of coffee etc. It worked fine for a couple of years, but then it would kick off after a few seconds use of the microwave. Tested the Inverter by doubling up the hair dryer and other appliances, and it is clearly the initial surge of the micro that kicks out the inverter.
Question, it works fine on shore power (but I am certain it puts out a load on the shore power), so what brand style would you recommend for replacement. I don't want to just replace it with another model made for the house and subject it to the bounce of the trailer and end up with the same issue. Any brands made specifically for travel trailers? I had little luck searching the net for heavy duty microwaves.
Thanks.

You better investigate your batteries. Most inverters will have a low voltage cut off. If your batteries have degraded, the surge from your microwave on inverter could be enough to trip it out. You need to be watching battery voltage on a meter before, during, and after running the microwave.

I would try a know good battery or put a volt meter across the current battery and then turn on the micro wave and watch the voltage drop of the battery.

Hi

Unlike compressors, microwaves do not have a giant / long energy spike right at startup. If anything it takes them a bit to get going. You obviously have a problem. Like the others I'd guess it's related to the amount of power being pulled rather than some weird characteristic of the microwave.

thanks, but

The batteries were brand new, in fact installed as part of the check out. Tried every other power hungry thing, it did not kick out. It was only on microwave. I will run the voltage tests etc. but the batteries are not the problem. Mostly I was looking for advice on microwaves that stand up to the travel bounce.
