The green light on the LP sensor/alarm does not turn off even when I disconnect the batteries at the disconnect switch. Does this make sense? I thought one of the reasons for the disconnect switch was so that the LP alarm would not drain the batteries during storage. Thanks
Hi. The store/use (disconnect) switch does not turn off the propane detector. We installed a switch on the inside of the door to which the detector is mounted that turns off the detector when we store the unit. (We leave a sign for ourselves to remember to turn it back on whenever we are present.) Joe
As previously mentioned, the propane leak detector is not turned off with the store/use switch. However, the propane detector uses a trivial amount of power so it's frankly a waste of time to try to bypass it to save power (unless you are planning to store your trailer without a trickle charger for a year or more.)
