If the LED's are too blue-ish for your taste, why not add a single yellow LED into the fixture? If it works, you will have a yeloowish tinge to your lioghting, if not, you will look like your dinner didn't agree with you. I also have access to "warm white" LED's, but they are a tad pricey. If you want to know more about them, and can't find them, give me a PM, and I will see if I can send you a sample to play with.

I have thought about adding a yellow LED to compensate but in our case the blue will actually be O.K by itself because all of my lighting fixtures has plastic that is yellowed already.

I'm interested in the color for two reasons. Firstly, I can't stand flourescent fixtures with their odd color light, it drives me nuts! Secondly because I'd love to find a way to conserve energy while keeping the old-style quality of the light which really makes the wood glow and gives it that vintage look.

I think the color of light is very interesting. We got some of those natural-light bulbs for our home and couldn't stand them. I guess we're just so used to incandescent bulbs, anything else doesn't really look right.

stef, silvertwinkie gave me this link, im putting the tailights on my ta do list, there is also a led retro for interior light. im going to get one to test, but will most likely wait for price to come down. to replace all the lights in my coach would put me in the poor locker, and i would no longer be a millionaire airstreamer....

LED Lighting Test #1

In a whim we purchaced some LED lamps from eBay. The bulbs are a standard automotive 1056 base. Total cost for 4 bulbs including shipping was $30.97. Not too bad and worth a test. Each bulb is 4 watts which is the same as each string
We tested the livingroom, kitchen, bedroom counter and bed overhead lights.

The results are posted on our web site. But suffice it to say that we were disappointed at best from the results. We were not prepared for the stark color and dimness of the lighting.

End result - we are now still looking...Anybody need some 1 watt led modules to play with cheap???

Not really - the picture doesn't do it justice as to how stark it was.
