Question Interior outlets dead

I'm new to Airstream Forum. Hopefully someone can help me with my problem. I have a 1978 Excella 500. Last summer I turned on my air conditioner. After running for a few minutes it stopped running. All my interior outlets died too. I used the trailer through the summer staying powered up by my solar panel. I dry camp most of the time. I am attempting to remedy my 120 volt system. I've used my test meter to check for power. I show 120 volts of power coming in the trailer, at the breaker panel, and all the plugs. Ground to hot and ground to neutral. The polarity light is on. I still cannot get anything 120 to work in the outlets, lamps, space heaters, vacuums. NOTHING!!! Very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try another test meter. If the one you're using shows power at the outlets yet nothing you plug in works, I would be suspicious of it.

The reverse polarity light should NOT be lit. This is an indication of the hot leg and neutral being reversed. It could be at the shore power outlet or in the shore power cable.
You should read 120 volts between the hot leg and the neutral. You should also read 120 volts between the hot leg and ground.
You should NOT read any voltage between the neutral and ground.
When properly wired the reverse polarity light is connected between neutral and ground and should not be lit when the system is working properly.
You could also have an open neutral. Where the 120 volts will "stand" on the neutral side because it has no return path.
I would check for reversed hot leg and neutral first. If that is correct. Then look for an open neutral.
