Interior light replacment
I purchased a new LED replacement light for over the table. Coming out of the trailer are a black and a white wire, out of the new light is a black and a red wire. Does black go to black and red to white? It didn't work when I tried it that way, now I'm afraid to try black to red and white to black.
I'm not an electrician, can you tell?

White is neutral in the Airstream. Black is hot.

Thank you for the input. Light is up and working great. Push button switch broke, replaced incandescent fixture with LED. Very Happy.
