incoming power

On the Airstream 27' International 1970 where do you plug in incoming power? We are complete newbies just got our Airstream this Thursday.

My 1970 LY has the power cord in the bumper storage area. zz

This cord can be plugged into any correct RV receptical or with an adapter to a 15 amp regular one. zz

The cord is in the rear bumper and should have a RV type plug on the end.
The plug will not plug into a standard outlet but there is an adapter that will allow you to plug into a standard 120VAC outlet at your home.

While the plug looks like a 220VAC plug it is a special RV plug and NOT intended for 220V.

If you plug it into a normal 15A or 20A 110V outlet using an adaptor - which you can get at WalMart - make sure it's only to run the lights and a few other items. Do not use the adaptor setup to run the AC - it cannot handle it and may damage the AC.

A new power outlet for the RV can be bought at Home Depot and wired in for a nominal fee by a certified electrician.
