Exclamation they must be different

chantal and mike

my 4700 must be equipped differently than yours.

it has a juntion box at the base of the left hand side of the drivers seat. it has about 8 or 10 LED's (light emmiting diodes) on it. it is for the remote start etc.

the over head console has six switches in it for cargo/spot lamps and the pto.

i thought all internationals were equipped this way.

my thought was that you could tap into any of the key on accessories to power a battery solenoid.

back to square one.

you need to find a circuit that becomes hot with the key to close a relay.

then you could use the bosch relay that frank posted.

John,

I am so happy to see that our truck is not equipped like yours......for a second here, I thought that Mike was completely senile
We already used a hot location in the box for the CB, so I guess we will do the same for that.

Thanks a lot to all of you.

Those Relays.....

We used a lot of those Bosche Cube relays at a two-way radio dealer I used to work for. We used to buy them by the gross for aboout $1.98 each. I felt bad for a guy one Saturday when I was at the parts counter at the local Chevy dealer when they charged a guy $30 for one They are a bulletproof relay, used in thousands of applications. We used them mainly for supplying power to light bars and sirens and activating horns on "recalls". Never seen one go bad.

Thanks a lot for the drawing.

Mike is very familiar with the Bosche cube relays, used in our Peugeots (known to our local DMV as Piew Goats).

I will show the drawing to Mike as soon as I can figure out how to stand the monitor on it's side

Thanks again.
