Honda EU2000i question

I have two EU2000i's that I am wanting to build an extended run tank for. I have seen some ideas on how to do this and they all use 3/8" fuel lines. I have found some quick disconnects that I like, but they only go up to a 5/16 hose. Does anyone know if this would make any difference? Thanks in advance for your help. Bill

I used 5/16" hose & QD's on the tank I put together, and it works great...

I don't believe you have a high enough fuel flow with the fuel 'sipping' Honda's to warrant a larger hose...

I used two fuel hose quick disconnects, one at the tank, and one at the cap so I could pack the components easier...

Also, I mounted one the quick disconnects opposite of the other so that the fuel tank would be 'closed' when the hose is disconnected, and then I could hook the hose end together to keep the hose 'sealed' during transit - after draining all fuel back into the tank...

I can't see an EU2000 starving on that size a line... my house 6500 uses the same size tubing... (3/8)

3/8" is way overkill for those little Honda's since the pair won't burn over a couple gallons in a day. For comparison my Cessna uses 3/8" with gravity feed for a 230 hp engine. The Cessna is flowing 12 gal/hr at cruise and 16 gal/hr for climb. I used 5/16" with a QD to plumb in an aux fuel tank for my Dodge and it will feed more fuel into the main tank than the Cummins can use while pulling the AS. This works out to something around 5 gal/hr.

1. Mechanical/layout
2. Flow rate

Mexray, with the quick disconnects installed, how do you drain the hose? I thought each half of the disconnect would be air tight?

I bought an extended run tank for our two Honda EU2000i's. Check their prices before you spend more building one.

Headhog....To drain I unhook from the cap on the Honda....Unscrew the cap... Reattach the hose and elevate to drain the hose back into the tank...

I then install my original Honda cap back onto the Genny, stowing the other cap with the hose & tank...works for
me...
