From what I have read, the plastic box that they sell you to safeguard the portable is a bit of a joke so how do you lock it to the post?

wires

Dave, if you're still watching this thread, I did look in that area under the 'L' part of the couch. On a 2014 model, The wires going to the breaker box were orange, two of them, and they looked like 12/2 romex, nothing special.
Leaving the breaker box was several yellow romex regular 14/2. Reason I say the yellow was leaving the breaker box is one of the yellow romex wires went right over the the hot water heater.
So I presumed the orange were going in the breaker box, even though I couldn't see where they come from.
I saw all the 12 volt DC lines leaving and the lines from the batteries.

I didn't have time to take top of the bench off. I will after we get back from out last trip of the season.

we store the AS inside at a somewhat heated storage facility, so I will work on it this winter. I'll be vacuuming that area out. You can store a good bit in there if you had too.
The subwoofer says made in Kalifornia. That's alright, they're still part of the USA right now.
I didn't see the transfer switch from Generator connector or AC shore power input, but I need to take that top of the bench off. I have enough room in the for a surge suppressor even if I need to re-route some wires.
thanks !
Have a good one ,

We've never had our portable surge guard stolen and it's really the least of my worries in a campground. If you do worry the pedestal boxes have holes for a padlock and you ought to use it because they will probably take your external power cord with or without a surge guard as well as anything else loose.

The vast majority of RVers don't use a surge protector.

While down at my dealership yesterday getting the micro pulse fixed I had a look at the Surge Guard. It's a lot bigger than I thought and will be easy to make up a cable lock system for it. Got it for about the same price as Camping World's Internet price without the ridiculous shipping to Canada.
Thanks for all the advice.

The good ones provide more than surge protection and after seeing some really low voltages at campgrounds, especially these days with so many air conditioners and heaters running, I went out and bought one.

For sure. On the advice of this forum I made sure that as well as surges that we were protected from low and high voltages.
