It will work but I use a dog bone adapter. This will take the strain off the connection.

I was looking at the dog bones as well. What’s the advantages of these? Would it be a problem having the ems surprotecter on the ground? Or hanging lower from the hook ups?

I don't know if you have a 30 amp trailer or a 50 amp. When I sold my 30 amp trailer I sold the 30 amp EMS. I now have a 50 amp service on my trailer with a 50 amp EMS I plug this into the pedistal.

What I was afraid of with the adapter in the picture is that the weight of the EMS would pull it out of the outlet.

Sorry don't have a better solution other than have a 2nd 30 amp EMS.

We use a 30 amp cord with a 50 amp trailer connection on one end. It minimizes the number of connections between post and trailer and is much easier to manage when you don’t need 50 amp.

This is the one we got, although I don’t have a current link to an available one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yep, that's gonna work but it might not stay plugged in. Go for a dogbone.

Adapter

I have both the yellow adapter and the dog bone. I also use a 50 amp surge protector. The problem with the yellow adapter is that it sticks out too much and sags. It can pull right out depending on the tightness of the plug. I have rigged it up with bungee cords and duck tape. I finally decided to use the dog bone. If the pedestal is a normal height you can bend the dog bone such that the surge protector is upright. I did encounter a pedestal where the plug was about a foot off the ground. In that case you can lay the surge protector flat or not use it after checking to ensure you are wired correctly and getting the proper voltage.

The photo you included looks like a 30-to-50 amp adapter which allows you to use a 50-amp plug in a 30-amp socket. Sounds like you are looking for an adapter to use a 30-amp plug in a 50-amp socket. I bought one at Camping World this week (dogbone style) for about $30 with my member discount. Haven’t used it yet.
