Genius award to transfer issue!

Didn't have enough reach to try the 30 amp so put on the 110 connector and hooked to front plug-in and immediate power inside.

Good call.

My '09 just has one, and I always miss that.

Glad it is working. That is a known issue, and warranty will cover it.

Regards,

JD

Thank you,

Cool beans and good news!!! You might consider picking up a 25 foot, 30 amp extension. Mine has come in handy a time or two.

I agree, genius award to AL - KG4U.

Are you getting DC to the batteries now, so that the jack is working???

Make sure you see the transfer switch replacement. There apparently have been several failing. In one guys AS repair to main wiring was needed.

No sooner did I step in the house, the front 110 plug apparently blew (blue LED light on front plug-in was out). Decided to try the rear again. Plugged the rear into the 30 amp and A/C is working etc.

Seems pretty finicky. The electrician who installed the 30 amp is coming tomorrow and will see if he's got an idea?

The TS Airstream uses, not the best quality..
Still under warranty? I would negotiate for an up-grade.

It's not an uncommon problem.

I have a 2013 Flying Cloud 25FB. Last weekend we were camping and all of sudden everything went dead. flipped all breakers, checked everything and nothing. Then I moved the shore cable to the front connector and everything worked!! Took it in for warrantee service and they told me the Transfer Switch was blown and a new one on order from Airstream. Hope to get the AS back before next weekend!!!

Transfer Switch works for short time and then quits on the rear 30 amp plug-in. Hope that Camper Clinic II wants to order the replacement for me without hauling the thing to
Buda!

If they replace it in kind, a good chance it will fail again in kind.

My original transfer switch failed, dealer replaced it and then that one failed. I am on my third transfer switch counting the original.

Random thought: Make sure the electrician knows you want a 120 VOLT 30 amp circuit.

I am not being picky here, but in the quoted post you mentioned trying the the "110 " plug. I understand this may just be a terminology thing during the heat of battle, but more than one Airstream has suffered damage from an incorrectly wired 30 amp RV outlet.

JD

Took my 2012 A/S international 25 RB to Camper Clinic II today. It won't be looked at until next week. To order parts, I assume. Service date would be about a month away due to backlog!

Must be hunting season?

JD,

I don't know electricity, but thought the standard plug was 110 volts? So what I meant was I used the adapter for a regular outlet (three-prong) to test for power because my 30 amp plug wouldn't reach without an adapter & extension cord to a standard outlet. It did blow the circuit breaker. Then I went back to the 120 volts / 30 amp plug. The A/C and lights worked for a short while and then quit too.

Will let you know the diagnosis.

Tom
