Generator-Honda EX 1000

Hi,
Does anybody know about the older Honda EX 1000 model generators? I now have one for use with my 1964 Safari. Anybody have an opinion about problems that I might have using this generator? It seems to run great.

They are good, and will work just fine within the capacity of the unit. That is they will not power an AC or microwave, and probably you should not try the electric part of the water heater either, but for running the converter, keeping batteries charged, some lights and television, you are fine. You will know when you overload it, it will just pop the generator's circuit breaker. Re set it, and reduce your load.

I think the only problem you may have is with modern electronics, which often prefer or require cleaner output than a lightweight non-inverter generator produces. If you're just planning to use it for charging up your batteries when boondocking, it should do fine. I think it'll be louder in operation than one of the EU-series inverter generators.

I have the one on top. Guess where it is mounted on the boat. Starts the first time with the remote and easy on fuel. I have a electric hot water heater in the boat and it handles it just fine. The boat is our other camper.
