Fuse box in '86 25' Sovereign?

My first post didn't work so let me try again. Where is the 12 volt fuse box on an '86 25' Sovereign rear bedroom? The PO wired the front Fantastic Fan to close the vent when it reached thermostat temp and left directions on how to return it back to it's original condition. Somehow the directions were wrong and I blew a fuse when I turned the master switch back on. HELP!

Nevermind, I just found it but the fuses are all thermal fuses. I wonder what is going on?

Fixed

It appears that the master switch was a little finicky. I switched back and forth several times and tried again. It worked this time. I shut if off then back on and it worked fine. Yes, it is clearly marked ON and OFF so I didn't get it backwards. The fan functions just like the fan in the bedroom now so WHOOPIE!

For general knowledge, the 12 volt fuse panel was behind the couch below the window and behind a bolster or pad covering the front wall. They hid it just fine. I did not expect thermal fuses either.

Memories.

I believe my very first post was on this identical topic - only my 25' is an '85. It has always seemed to me that Airstream could not have done a better job of hiding it with a team of experts and mission statement.

Mark,
I looked high and low, in every cabinet, in every outside storage area, just about everywhere. My last thought was to run my hands over the front pad and I felt something behind it. I was dumbfounded to see such a small fuse box since the one on my '77 was at least 8 times the size of this one. I did find a set of potholders back behind one of the cabinets next to the stove, threw them away.

Fuse Box

Hi all,
Thanks for the info. on the fuse box. I never had to look for it yet but there is always the first time. I assumed that the breakers in the bathroom did it all in my `1985 Sovereign. Tomorow I will go hunting for the fuse box. AS has habbit in hiding simple repair items in strange places.

Regards Russell

There is a 12V fuse box behind the front couch below the window. We remove the fabric pad to access it.

Keith

Excuse my ignorance, but what are "thermal fuses"? Do they burn out and need to be replaced like conventional fuses or are they permenant like a circuit breaker that can be reset?
