fuse box getting hot

hi everyone im new here! my father and i are working a 24ft 69 airstream trailer and we are having a few electrical problems.
when the trailer is hooked up to 110 a few fuses in the fuse box in the back are getting really hot. does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? is there a regulator someware that could be bad?

Heated electrical components are most always due to 'resistance' in the circuit/component due to faulty connection, corrosion, loose wire-to-connector, or internal parts that are corroded due to age...

I would suspect that in a 50+ year old AS, you have some connection problems, dirty connections, etc...

Older wiring strands become covered with a kind of 'patina' that causes resistance - especially with crimp-on type connectors, and fuse connectors, etc...

I'd sure look into replacing your components with new stuff - you'll eliminate many unseen problems down the road, and have a much safer electrical system as well...

You didn't indicate whether this is the 110 volt box which I think had breakers or the 12 volt fuses on the back of the univolt or in that area. If it is the 12 volt glass fuses check the rivets that hold the clips on the fuse holder as they become loose and make for a high resistance joint that overheats.

Overall check any warm areas for anything that is loose or corroded.
Of course unplug the power before checking the joints for temperature rise by hand
