What he means is this, If you got the generator hooked up to the trailer, and at the same time you want the electricity to flow into the trailer, to be used in the trailer, while the generator is running, turn the thing on.

At least I think that's what he meant.

I also have southern roots, I translated the sign as saying: Attention to insure optimal results when using this feature follow the recommended operational procedures. Shocking that anyone was confused really……..
