Finding an Electrician

All my walls are off and my father, who knows a thing or two about electricity is re-wiring the whole trailer for me. It's got new EVERYTHING... wires, batteries, inverter, fuse box... the whole sha-bang.

My question is: So I don't die, how can I find an electrician (for travel trailers) to come and check his work?

Regular licensed electricians are not necessarily familiar with the RVIA codes for RV electrical systems and might not be up to speed on the combinations of AC and DC systems.

You might do better looking for a Certified RV Tech that has significant experience in RV power systems.

Get the Rvviiaabcd whatever code book, set down with your dad and have him teach you how and what he did, while both of you look it up in the book. Then you can teach your kids, how grand dad did it back in 010.

Yes, exactly.... thanks for saying this. Electricity really isn't magic... and learning how this stuff is supposed to work means one can fix problems on the road.

Just remember. Everything electrical operates on smoke. Because when you blow something up and let the smoke out, it doesn't work any more. lol. Seriously though, being familiar with the electrical system of your TT is a huge asset, especially when you are on the road.
