Exposed wire behind stove

I see an exposed wire behind my stove without tape or wire nuts?

What do you think it was for and what are your recommendations?

Picture is from under my sink looking towards the stove and front of the trailer curb side.

First, have you owned your Classic since new (2004/5)?

If not, I would try to pull the wires forward, so that you can test them for voltage/ground. Once determined if either lead is connected to +/-, I would cap them all.

If you have, then these might be extra wires pulled in for accessories that you did not order. Go back to fuse panel to see if there are wires without fuses installed.

In either case, IMHO, these should be capped and taped.

I have a 2013 25FB: different year, different model. But on mine, the propane oven is standard and a microwave is optional. The microwave, if ordered, replaces the propane oven. And Airstream designates a dedicated circuit breaker in the breaker box, and runs a 110V cable to the space under the oven, even when the trailer is built with the propane oven.



You trailer might be the same way.

I’d bet on solar prewire for charge controller. Yellow and green are plus and minus for panels (on my trailer the other end is in the outside fridge compartment) and red and black are near the batteries (on my trailer coiled up behind the sofa).

Neither other end is connected to anything.

+1. Looks like a prewire to me. For peace of mind, I would expose enough of each conductor and use a crimp connector to cap it off. Wire nuts will eventually work themselves loose. If you have any floating wires in your 120v ac panel, you could do a simple continuity test to see if indeed those wires go to the panel. If they do, make a note for future electrical needs in that area.

That would be cool if it was pre wired for solar.

I need more time to Check out all these things. Hopefully around the Christmas holidays.

On another note, are any of my 110 outlets powered by the battery and an inverter? 2004 classic 25”.

I would cap it off until you figure out what to do with it ... just don't like exposed wires and metal trailer bodies ��

Are all your lights working in the trailer including storage areas? The reason I ask is because 6 of my interior and storage lights went out in the trailer. I traced the circuit to a wardrobe cabinet next to the sink. Underneath I found a red wire that didn't go to anything and was coated in green verdigris. I couldn't seem to find the other end of the wire connection. I had already tested and found it to be a 12 volt DC source. Two feet of wire was never found between there and the nearest connection in the wardrobe. I spliced in a two foot piece of wire and bingo, all lights came back on. I'm not saying the same thing happened in your case but if a 12 volt DC source then I'd be looking for where it goes.

I had seen that in the manual however, Are they on both sides of the galley or split up?

Mine are behind the stove on the curb side and the manual talks about the refrigerator that is on the road side..
