Electrical Short?

Morning All,

Wiring in my new fridge Hot lead to fridge not hot. Checked all leads out of 12v distribution box. All good except top right 20 amp fuse. Moved lead down to a confirmed hot lead two down in panel. Turned on power. Heard a click. Now top right and 3rd one down right no longer hot. Multiple part question

1. The fuses looked riveted in. Can the 20amp fuses in distribution box be reset?

2. Cause of fuse popping can only be a short?

3. Can I track and fix or due to wiring behind riveted panels am I forced to take my trailer to service center?

4. Any suggestions for help with this in or near Winter Haven, FL? or can someone suggest a quality rv/airstream service center strong in electrical?

As always suggestions or advice appreciated.

Thanks,
Darryl

I think your trailer has breakers that have a reset button. Look closely on the side of each breaker to see if there is a small black button extended. Push the button back in if it is extended to restore power.

My guess is there is a short in the refrigerator, or wired incorrectly.

I would disconnect the 12v at the fridge. Reset, replace or wait for the circuit breaker to cool and try again with the fridge disconnected. If it doesn't pop the issue could be isolated to the refrigerator.

Thanks for the replies. Not fridge for sure. Just before buying new fridge i noticed the outside door lamp stopped working as did the couch reading light on that side. Chalked it up to bulbs and put on to do list. Obviously thryboth are wired in series with hot wire to fridge compartment. The new fridge has never had power to it. So with those as given facts short has tobe somewhere is wiring or maybe the lights. Took apart the door lamp. Looked clean and attached properly etc. really stumped.

No, it might be drawing more power than the fuse allows or circuit breakers getting old and weak.
