on my 72 a/s does anyone know how inverter works ? has a switch(like light switch in home)hooked to inverter ,can't tell it does anything wont run trailer when 110 hooked up(without battery) and batt. will run down after about 6 hrs.with it turned on or off .i suppose it's on you can hear a buzz, don't know if it came on origional or not. airstream univolt-antomatic batt. charger and power supply-modle t4-345a. any info would be appreciated.
Univolt was the orignal and they have a problem of overcharging the battery and many owners put in a disconnect switch and that sounds like what has happend to yours.
The univolt will hum when it is working. The house type switch is most likely a 15 amp switch the univolt is capable of 45 amps.
I would jumper around the switch to verify the univolt is good or bad. Just make sure you do not have AC pluged in when you jumper around the switch.
well as you would guess--seems other people have same problem ,should have looked at board .will take univolt out tomorrow if i can figure out how didn't look like a easy job ronnie
