Hey folks,
I did a quick search for this, but didn't find it. Forgive me if I'm duplicating here, but I'm kinda in a hurry.
Some &^&$%#*! pulled the electrical cord out too far and I can't get the spring-loaded spool to retract it. Does anyone have any tricks for getting it to work? Or a work-around?
it has worked on other things for me......
turn the spool by hand just past where it is now stopped. that extra movement usually brings the unit to the next release point for it to retract. power off please!

I just tried that, but it feels like it's locking in both directions. Is there a hidden release somewhere? This is a 1982 34' Limited trailer. Maybe I need to try a wrench to grab it because the opening for my hand is pretty small to get a good grip on it. But it does have the feeling of locking in both directions.
I should correct what I said above. It rotates an inch or two and then locks. No matter which way I pull the cord - down, up, to the left, to the right - it still does that. I couldn't get it to move further with my pliers. We ended up stuffing the cord in. That's what we did to get it into storage. But if someone has an idea about how to fix this for when we actually use it more, that would be great.
thanks!
Oh! We must have been posting at around the same time. Thanks for that link. It looks like a bear, but it does give me a good sense of what's involved. Thanks!
