Electric Power Hitch Stopped going up.

On my 2010 25 FB the hitch motor started smoking and struggling to go up. Will go down fine but not up. Smelled strongly of electrical fire. Then I didn't use it for a couple days and it went up but struggled. Now won't respond to going up at all.

Has this helped to anyone? Could there be dirt or grime on the gears? I looked down the top when I had to manually crank it up the rest of the way, and looked underneath,,,,no access I could see at a glance.

Still under warranty....In 2 months no more warranty.

That cover will come off somehow. It's a simple enough machine that the problem should be obvious if it was smoking.

With 2 months left on the warrentee, I would'nt even look at it, as all you can do is void the coverage,,, Run, don't walk to the dealer and let it be his problem,,, just my opinion, others may disagree.
