Double battery box

Our 1997 safari has only one battery housed under the jackknife and accesses thru a front compartment. I want to mount a two battery box on the tongue low enough to still have access to the compartment . What is involved in this? Does anyone have pictures? would you use the standard AS box or an aftermarket ?

Metal battery boxes are available at RV parts stores, some of which look exactly like the ones used on Airstreams. Some boxes require welding, while others bolt on.

While others may supply photos, suggest you look at battery boxes on other Airstreams at your local dealer, or a rally/event where Airstreams are in attendance, to get measurements and see how they are mounted.
