DOMETIC 3-way fridge help- RM8501

So, this is my first time having a 3 way fridge. I’ve got propane lines working and it works on 120V while hooked up to shore power. Only issue i am having is determining how to make it work on 12V while hooked to the tow vehicle. I have all my 7 pin wires wired correctly, as I found a diagram of the late 70s wiring color codes and I now have “trailer brake connected” symbol on vehicle dash, reverse lights are working, and so the charge line is now wired correctly. What am I missing here? I read where the D+ on the back needs to be wired but a Dometic rep through email told me that is only for a motorhome installation.. is that correct?

Any help would be appreciated as to how I can get this working. I’m not opposed to running fridge on propane while driving, but I want to be able to run on 12V when I want.

Thanks.
