DC and AC Testing while Installing New System???

Any electricians out there?

I am installing my new system while I am also rebuilding all of the interior. What is a good method of testing DC or AC circuits while installing without having the Distribution panel installed officially?

Is it bad to clip the positive and Ground wires to a battery to test momentarily? I assume that is a no no, but thought I would ask...

Should I do a temporary install with the safe guards and then hook up to test?

Any advice on this would be very helpful... My main concern would be wiring the entire system while also rebuilding the interior and then finally hooking it all up and hoping for the best... then trouble shooting...

Anyway, thanks for any help!

Use a battery charger. You can test each circuit without fear of blowing things up. Just connect the black lead of the charger to a clean spot on the skin or frame. Then use the red lead to connect to each circuit you want to test. This applies to the DC circuits. It is much safer to use a charger than to use a battery since the charger has a limited amount of current capacity. Whereas a battery has an infinite amount.
With the AC circuits, you have circuit breaker protection. Usually there are only a few circuits. Outlets, converter power and Air Conditioning.
Obviously all wiring should appear to be in good shape, with the appropriate fasteners entering boxes etc..
