Converting Slimline Flourescent Fixtures to LED

Does anyone have a less expensive solution to upgrading the little 2-tube Slimline fluorescent light fixtures to LED?

From what I have seen on various sites plus the Airstream store, they are about $20 for each strip or about $50 per fixture shipped. Seems to me there ought to be something a bit less expensive out there.

the led strips used inside the flo' fixtures (after by passing the ballast)

are ALL priced ~20-25 bucks PER TUBE replacement.

have u price ANY led bulb replacements for any of the fixures?

they are all spendy after 4-6 LE DIODES are used.

there ARE some less expensive flo' bulb conversions,

but they all involve fewer OR dimmer ledz.

and just an fyi, after converting 6 flo' fixtures...

it takes 3 strips (not 2) or 60-75$ worth...

to get approximately the SAME brightness and spread of light...

as the original flo' bulbs.

flo bulbs tend to FADE with age, so when replacing OLD FLO,

2 strips seems about equal,

but compare 2 strips to FRESH/NEW flo' bulbs

and 2 strips is clearly not as much light as 2 flo'...

and flo' bulbs run ~5$ for good replacements.

i was burning through 1-3 bulbs per year in some fixtures (like over the fridge and sink)

i DO expect prices to drop significantly on the led strips...

but the price drop won't happen till after we convert them...

all of the true things that i am about to tell you are shameless lies. l.b.j.

we are here on earth to fart around. don't let anybody tell you any different. k.v.
