Coaxial cable and other cables behind DVD player
We have 2016FC23D. It has USB charging ports next to DVD player in the front cabinet. They stopped working, so as suggested by the forum, I opened up the space by unscrewing three screws to see behind/under the DVD player. It was messier than I expected.
First, I couldn’t detect voltage on the wire that is connected to the USB port. So maybe the problem isn’t the USB outlet itself, but the electrical cable, feeding the USB ports. If do, I feel this is beyond what I’m comfortable messing with. So I plan to have the dealer address it at the next service.
The thing I want to ask the forum is a couple of cables that I found in there.
One is a coaxial cable, and it wasn’t connected to anything. DVD player does have a place to connect a coaxial cable, but I can’t figure out why we need that. DVD player is working with HDMI cable without this coaxial cable. But if DVD player does not need it, why there is this cable in the first place?
Another cable is a set of two cables, white and grey, and they are very similar (almost identical) to the set of cables that is connected to the USB ports, black and white with the same connector. So this cable (grey and white) isn’t connected to anything, like the coaxial cable.
What are they and why are they mot vonnected to anything?

The coaxial cable you are referring to is a connection to the satellite input on the side of your trailer. You would connect the coaxial cable to a satellite receiver and you would have to install a new HDMI splitter to connect all the TVs and DVD player as the existing splitter is a single input with two outputs (front and rear television).
The other grey and white cables is another set of wires that is a 12 volts. It can be used to power anything you want that runs on 12 volts. I use it for my HDMI splitter.

Let the bundle of wires be.
If you don't have 12V at the USB gizmo first check your fuses.

Yep probably a blown fuse. You can clean up the wiring if you want to (I would). But check fuses for sure.

I have the exact same problem, this morning that charger stopped charging on my 25ft. Where is the fuse?
Thanks

I tend to agree with pat. If if is the fuse, then it is likely that something else 12vdc is not operative. I would have to look at the wiring plan but find it hard to believe that the circuit is a home run.
I've swapped out our dvd for a wally and agree that 1) the stray coaxial is for the sat and they lead to the sat & cable exterior connections, in our unit, at the rear of the tt and 2) behind the dvd & stereo is a nasty birds nest. JC basically jammed wiring w/ long leads back into the cabinet. Nary a zip tie to be found!I

cables
I probably won't be much help since I am waiting on my FC. However, I did ask how I would connect both TV's with just one input from outside. I was told that there is a splitter and coax cables in area you describe which would allow you to hook up two sat receivers. One to front TV and one to bedroom TV. It was my understanding that the DVD was already hooked up.

Correct, I believe the splitter only supports 2 TVs to one device. You will have to get a 2 TVs to 2 device splitter/switch if you want sat and blue ray on both TVs otherwise you only end up with sat on the front TV and blue ray on both TVs.

When we first got our 2018 International 27fb, the DVD signal wasn't working. I opened the cabinet and was really frustrated with the wire nest. I emailed AS and asked if there was a wiring diagram, or schematic, and they said no. Even a basic block diagram, with labels on cables, would make it a lot easier to get it right the first time, and fix it later if needed.

USB Ports
I agree that if you couldn’t find any voltage on the wires leading to your USB ports, you probably have a blown fuse. However, we use our USB ports next to the radio all the time to charge our cell phones, and ours quit working after about 2 years of heavy use. I suspect we may have accidentally shorted a charging cable somewhere along the way, and maybe that killed the ports. However, the USB ports that Airstream installs in new trailers are not exactly very heavy duty.
I wanted a more rugged USB port, plus I wanted to add another pair of ports on the other side of the radio, so I ordered new USB ports from Amazon. I bought Ginsco dual USB charger socket power outlets, 2.1 amp & 2.1 amp, with an in-line fuse for $9.99 each. They even come with blue LED’s for backlights. The new ports have worked great for almost 2 years so far. The wiring looks messy, but it’s not that hard to do once you get into it.
