Charging batteries w/ generator

Hello,
We are picking up our trailer this weekend and are going to park and live in it in an area with no electrical service. Our plan is to use our 4500 Watt generator to charge the batteries each day, then once charged, run on the batteries. Is this feasible? How long will it take to charge the batteries each day?

Yes, it is practical, but the time to recharge, and the time to discharge will obviously depend on your amount of power use.

I would consider a 100 watt solar system (could easily be a portable one) in conjunction with the generator.
