Buying Battery Online?
Howdy,
No local suppliers stock the Lifeline battery I want. Those that can get have to order which is fine but want to charge me freight which adds quite a bit to price when tax etc is worked in.
I found the model I want on Amazon but it seems weird ordering a battery online.... even though that's essentially what the local dealer is doing...
Of corse it would be better to check manufacturer date before paying but that option out the window....
All that said do you ever buy batteries online and if so what's the best place to buy?
Thanks,
Rounder44

I bought our new BB Lithium's on Amazon...ended up being shipped directly from the factory.
I've bought a lot from A-zon, never had a problem that wasn't resolved satisfactorily. I am a Prime member.
FWIW...bought our Zamp solar suitcase, rear view camera, TPMS, Victron monitor all from A-zon...no problems. 👍

Hi
I've bought batteries on Amazon. It can be hit or miss. Some come in without the dates punched at all. I've heard horror stories about warranty claims as a result. ( = you need a dated receipt from an authorized dealer to start the warranty period. Uncle_Bob selling on Amazon isn't actually an authorized dealer ....).

We also buy batteries on line.
Both lead and lithium.

I've purchased Lifeline AGM's from Battery Guys and have purchased Battleborn Lithium battery directly from Battleborn.
Both transactions were successful with no issues!

They are often dated product and need immediately charges when you receive them and then the warranty (if needed) can be a nightmare. Find out when they were built and if they are an authorized dealer. What terminals are included? If it seems to good to be true...it often is but not always.
Every Lifeline battery we have sold in the last 12 years has been factory fresh with a build date usually less than 14 days when shipped.
FWIW those on the west coast can will call in San Dimas, CA and those on the east coast can will call in Rockingham, NC to save on freight if that is an option. If they won't offer that option, that's a red flag.
A lot of RV and especially Marine OEM manufactures use them if they have overstock, they will auction them before they have to charge them within 6 months to a year.
GPL-6CT and larger must ship freight on a pallet due to weight. Smaller ones can ship ground and turnaround time should be 2-3 days anywhere in the contiguous 48. It's also less to ship to a business or FedEx freight terminal of you have one in your area.

Yes I bought our Lifeline batteries from Centex Batteries out of Texas. Best price I found online at the time. Free shipping included. Date code were within 3 months and both were same month. Does that make sense?
Funny thing is the manufacture is about a 45 minute drive from where we live but only sell at retail.

It does make sense. 3 months is borderline but probably still had decent charge level. Wouldn’t want them any older for sure unless they are equipped to charge.
You could have will called them. We have people do that all the time in San dimas, CA or Rockingham, NC

So....
Should I remove both batteries and charge them at home with a trickle charger before installing in Airstream?
I gather they need to be as close to same state as possible and no clue what the one will be shipping at.
Thanks,

Your Lifeline will arrive fully charged. If your existing battery is also fully charged and has a resting open circuit voltage of at least 12.7, then I would put it in service provided you have one of the 3-4 stage converters. Would not store however with the Parallax or WFCO converters.
