Buying Batteries Online?
Is this considered a reasonable and/or intelligent thing to do? I don't have a great selection of batteries on my area and one online store seems to have a good price plus free shipping. Thanks!

If the price is right and shipping is free (or included in the price), I don't see why not.
Aircraft batteries are bought on-line all the time, with good results.

Worked for us....👍
I bought our BB Lithium's on Amazon...note the seller.
I dealt with BB directly when there was a delay because of high demand, the newer batteries came with the 10yr warrantee.
The same thing when I bought our 2 Zamp Suitcase's, direct from Zamp...
Pay attention to the seller...do the google on 'em.🤓

I have bought batteries online twice, from the same vendor. The first 2 were Lifeline group 24 AGMs. Great price, quick shipping, no issues. My son bought 2 Lifeline group 31 and 2 group 27 AGMs from the same dealer; again, no problems.
This past spring I bought a group 27 standard battery. When it arrived it was obvious that it had been stored upside down by FedEx at some point. The battery was shipped inside a thick plastic bag, so nothing leaked out.
The battery was low on acid, plates were not covered. I contacted the vendor and he asked that I buy acid, mix with distilled water, fill the cells again and charge it. I did all of this but it would not charge above 12.4 volts. After a lot of back and forth he agreed to refund my money. He didn't refund the price I paid for the acid, saying he couldn't find any way in the battery refund to cover it, that he would find another way. He hasn't and it's been 3 months.
I would recommend that you purchase only AGMs or other leak-proof type of battery.
