Question Brake lights

Was wondering if someone could assist me with a brake light problem on my '97 Land Yacht DP? Noticed that the only brake light function working on the DP is the center B.L. unit above the rear access panel. The outboard light units have no brake light function- the turn signal, running light and B.U. light modes all work. Also, the recepticle for the trailer harness indicates the same. Before I spend hours chasing loose wires, missing wires, no wires, maybe someone has experienced this problem? Thanks!

Sounds like maybe a wire nut came loose and allowed the wires to come free from the source. I am replacing all the lights on my AS with the new diode lights and have found some wires where the wire nuts fell off or were never used.

Oh that is found behind the light assembly in the rear on either side, but don't know which side is the main side.

I've located the main wiring harness at the right rear of the coach as well as the cable connector. I've performed the usual 12v. elec. test with a test probe and I suspect that a wire(s) has come loose as one should have brake light capability with the turn signal set up.

I have the 3 light system on the rear of mine, a red brake light (inner) white or clear back up light (center) and a red turn light (outer) The wires on mine were set so that the inside light is only a brake and not a turn light. I can't remember right now but I think the outside did function as both a turn and a brake light. I have changed this so that both of the red lights work as brake and turn.
I don't know if this is the same on your unit, but if you have power going back there then you have a loose or broken connection back there. It sounds like the power should be getting back there since you said you have turn lights.

I agree. Somewhere along the wire harness is a wire missing its mate! Chasing the elusive loose wire can be time consuming. Will keep checking. Thanks!
