Boondocker power center and ATS 301

After extracting the old Parallax frame, I discovered the ATS 301 automatic transfer switch mounted the back. I see two orange romex wires entering the case - one marked M for main and one marked G for generator. From other posts regarding the ATS 301 - it is intended to manage power coming into the AC panel from either the shore power main receptacle on the side of the coach and/or the power that may come in from the generator receptacle on the front of the coach.

But the new Boondocker Power Center does not include such a switch. My plan is to mount the ATS 301 to the Boondocker PC frame and call it good, at least for now. I have never had any trouble with the switch.

So - alternatives? Before I go final?

Much appreciated, in advance.

further info

I should further note that I do not connect both receptacles to power, ever. I am either in a hook-up camp space (20% of the time) or boondocking with or without the generator connected.

Wondering if it is permissible to connect one of the orange set of romex wires directly to the 30 AMP breaker and negative bus - effectively bypassing the transfer switch function. Realizing I would have to disconnect one of the orange set/receptacles to prevent feeding 110v to the male connectors in the unused receptacle.

As long as you disconnect one set and insulate the ends properly it should be no issue

mission accomplished

disconnected the main receptacle - we use the front generator port most often. Went to the local electrical store and found a fantastic method for joining the 8w and 6w wires for the 12v side. Photos to follow when I thaw out.

heavy wire connector

don't know what they are called, exactly. Counter help brought them to me. They have a thick rubbery coating, secure the wires with set screws under the two rubber or silicone plugs seen in the picture, and come pre-treated with DC4 grease.
